Initial Consultation
An initial prostate consultation will detect any early signs of prostate cancer. Your doctor may carry out a rectal examination and require blood and urine samples. You may also be asked to record how often you drink fluids and pass urine over a 3-day period to help your doctor analyse your risk.
If you’re at risk of prostate disease, you’ll be referred for further tests.
Multi-parametric MRI
A multi-parametric MRI takes a more detailed scan of the prostate than a regular MRI, as it combines up to 4 types of image. These images show any cancerous growths, from which your doctor will be able to determine how likely any cancer is to grow.
You’ll lie inside the scanner during the process, while magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses magnetic fields and radio waves to scan the prostate gland. Following the scan, your doctor may refer you for a MRI-guided biopsy, which is more likely to pick up slow-growing or non-aggressive cancers.
The below package price is offered to self paying patients specific to procedure CCSD code M6583 for a daycase stay. There will be no reduction in the package price for a reduced length of stay.

Follow-up Consultation
Once the results have been returned from your initial consultation, your doctor will be able to share these with you and, if necessary, advise of further tests and treatments. If a diagnosis can be concluded, you may be prescribed antibiotics.
You may require further tests, either a multi-parametric MRI of prostate scan or a prostate biopsy. These tests will allow your doctor to check for any cancerous growth in your prostate and determine how quickly any cancer is likely to spread.
Transperineal Prostate Biopsy
During a Transperineal Prostate Biopsy, an ultrasound scanner is placed in the rectum and needles are used to take small samples of prostate tissue. These samples are then sent to a lab for testing.
Results will show any cancerous growths and determine how severe any cancer is. A Transperineal Prostate Biopsy will pick up even slow-growing and non-aggressive cancers that could have been present for extended periods of time. If cancer is diagnosed, treatment will be the next step.
